Equal Pay Charter

The QQ Africa Equal Pay Charter

Same skill, same standard, same pay — wherever you were born, whatever you look like.

One rate for one skillA rate is attached to a skill and a verified tier, never to a person, a passport or a photograph. A teacher in Kisumu and a teacher in Kansas are paid the same rate for the same verified skill delivered to the same standard.
No geographic discountWe will never publish a lower rate for a region. "Local market rate" has been the polite name for underpaying Africans for twenty years, and we refuse the phrase along with the practice.
Skill before faceA profile leads with what someone can do, what they have been assessed on, and what their clients said. Name and photograph come after, because that order is what stops a decision being made before the work is even read.
You cannot shop by raceThere is no filter for nationality, ethnicity, religion or skin colour, and there never will be. Requests for one are refused, not quietly ignored.
Delivered to standard, paid in fullIf the work meets the brief, the pay is not negotiable downward afterwards. Post-hoc haggling was the other way people were squeezed.
Everyone teaches, everyone learnsA Kenyan woman teaching salsa to a Texan, an elder teaching weaving to a designer in Milan, a Nairobi engineer tutoring in Cairo — at the same hourly rate as anyone else with that skill. Heritage knowledge is real knowledge and it is paid like it.
Anti-exclusion, not members-onlyNobody is barred by race, origin or faith — including the majority. A rule that excluded people would be the same disease wearing different clothes.
Measured, not assertedWe publish a disparity audit: median pay by skill and by region. If a gap appears, it is visible to everybody, including us.

This is not a new fight. It is a long one, carried by many before us, and this is our turn to carry it in the place where we can — the pay line.

Floor: USD 10.00/hour for verified skilled work, everywhere.
